"Derby" is a very nice reiner, very well schooled and he knows his job. He has 1400.00+ NRHA earnings plus has wons saddles, buckles and other loot in the tough Northern California affiliate. The lights are done in our arena...yeah....those will be super nice for riding this winter....maybe even a riding lesson or 2 after dark might be held...We're off sunday to show at our local show, it'll be a good test run for glenn's 3YO futurity filly, she's be Whizard Jac..

Fancy Boonlight is going to be shown at a NRCHA event in Temecula next weekend..it'll be fun to see how she does...She's for sale so it'd be great to see her do well at her first reined cowhorse show..hopefully the cows will be good for her.

The horse world still remains relatively strong even with a staggering economy...Entries for the Morgan world show are down slightly but all things considered are still very good...I'm just back from driving out with and helping set up The Rushtons stable with 26 horses...the show starts saturday and runs a week..there is a webcast..be sure to look it up if you have interest in seeing what they do...www.morganhorse.com should get you there..

We are showing on sunday at our local ETI show with the reiners..should be a fun afternoon..they've had a good showing of competitive reiners at their first show.... we'll show all 3 horses hopefully...

We hosted a very successful 1 day reining clinic with NRHA professional Tom Foran. Tom has a great program for instructing non pros and he was successful with our group. Tom is a great guy and if you get a chance to ride with him do take the opportunity. Our clinic hosting experience was very good and I think we'll try for another clinic some time this winter.

We also rode with NRHA professional Bill Norwood at his La Cresta ranch. We had a fun and informative day and can highly recommend riding with Bill for a day as well.

We think these affordable 1 day clinics are a very affordable way to get top quality instruction if yo have the opportunity be sure to take part.

I'm now an ebayer...I have my vic bennett saddle and my clinton anderson saddle both on ebay currently....check them out , they are easy to search for..see the VB saddle under "reining saddles" and the CA saddle under clinton anderson saddles. Chex Out Little Lena to our friends Rick & Karen Shephard, she's being a perfect horse for the "rich the reiner" to learn how to ride a finished reiner. He's even done his first show already and is looking forward to many more.

We helped our friend Kelly Raphael (kelly girl) pick herself out a reiner. She purchased Cowboy Commute a 4yo mare sired by Nrha Futurity winner Whizard Jac. Kelly is doing great on her new mare is looking forward to showing her at some point.

I purchased a 3YO daughter of Whizard Jac as well....she's nicely started has lots of step in her turn around and I'm looking forward to the training challenge. Her name is Showhizfun. She'll be a while before she'd ready to show but we got the time. She's definetly the quietest reiner we've had.

So What's the Deal??

Howdy all....welcome to spring time in California, not only is our weather heating up.....so is the interest in the horses and the dogs. People are looking for the perfect partner to head out and do their equine and K9 activities with.

My Porfessional Horse trainer friend and I had a little discussion about that. She has the theory that people "think" there is only 1 "perfect" horse out there for them, but the reality is that there is 50 horses out there that could easily get the job done for them. It seems that people will dwell on the negative qualities that a particular horse has, and believe me they all have negative qualities as there is no perfect horse. I think people miss out on great horses because they fail to look at the big (overall) picture that the horse is....

So are you a negative shopper or do you look at the big picture??? There's a great inventory of horses out there right now and it's certainly a buyers market, be realistic in your shopping and find yourself a great equine to get those horse goals a happening with....

Is spring really here??

The California poppies are blooming and the air is warming up in southern California. Camping season will be in full swing soon and we'll be looking for a place for the horses and us to have a fun weekend at.

CLinics are happening, Clinton Anderson is at Temecula this weekend and is back in City of Industry in April. Glenn is hoping to ride in the John Slack clinic at WIllow Glenn in Sand Diego in May as well. Did any of you watch the Road to the Horse last weekend?? Who do you think the winner should have been??

Our local ETI, Gavilan Girls club spring series of shows starts this weekend and we're hoping for great weather for them. A good group of reiners show up to show there. It's a nice sized arena with good ground, so the reiners like :)

The morgans are gearing up to show at Del Mar the end of March, that's such an interesting place to get your horses shown at ...

A huge congrats to Russell & Tracy Spence of Lexington SC on their purchase of De Novo Independence. . Indy will head out on his cross country journey next week. We wish them many happy riding miles with this nice buckskin gelding.

Enjoy the early time change(March 9th) and spring ahead in your horse activities.

Happy New year.....how's the New year's resolutions going??...

Are you shopping for a new horse?? new tack?? new horse blankets??

All are fun pursuits and I've already bought a new horse for 2008, she is a 2YO Bay filly by Multi Ch MLF Sharper Image and out of a Hylee Raire Flaire daughter. She's a good sized girl already and has the show and talent you would expect from her breeding. She's going to go to work here shortly and become an educated girl. She is For Sale as always :)

New tack...no new saddles yet...but there's some great bargains to be had on ebay on brand name saddles...I'm just waiting for a screaming good deal on a Bobs reining saddle...

Horse blankets....Schneiders is the only way to go...great prices and great service...There rain proof sheets are the best for our california climate.

Want to eduate yourself....I do offer riding lessons and I have a great lesson horse...please drop me an email or phone call and I'll get you booked.
